Skin Brushing

The body uses the kidneys, lungs, bowel and skin to help detoxify what is ingested or breathed. If the kidneys, lungs and/or bowel are stressed, and/or if a person is ill, the skin can be used to help take a load off of these organs and can help immensely in the healing process.

Sauna 101

Place at least four layers of towels (two towels folded over) where you sit so that your sweat will not penetrate the wood in the sauna. Place a towel on the wood where the feet rest. To protect your wood from sweat, place a towel on the bottom of the sauna where you step in. Turn on the sauna. If you want to heat it up fast and you have both the Finnish heating element as well as the far infrared, then turn both on.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy, the application of hot and cold, is one of the fastest and most powerful ways to move blood in and out of an area. Hot water, when applied to the surface of the body dilates the capillaries and veins and draws the blood out of the depths of the body and up to the surface of the body. It immediately changes your blood flow and brings it all to the surface. Heat also relaxes your muscles, which allows better ...

Espom Salt Bath

Inexpensive Epsom salt baths pack a huge punch! The benefits are very well stated in the article below written by Melissa Breyer. The combination of ingredients in Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath and Mustard Rub assist in restoring the correct pH to the body. They do this by helping the body tissues to eliminate acid waste. This includes the elimination of acid waste, particularly lactic acid, after physical exertion.

Chemical Injury to the Lungs

Chemical injury to the lungs can result in an imbalance in the gases involved in respiration, carbon dioxide and oxygen. After chemical injury to the lungs, the lungs many times go into a chronic state of hyperventilation, constantly breathing 2-3 times more than the metabolic need. This disturbs the body pH and the smooth muscle function, which can result in lung dysfunction. This lung dysfunction ...

Ginger Bath

Ginger is known for its medicinal and anti inflammatory properties. Ginger used in your bath has almost the same effects as taking it orally. Ginger has a warming effect, promotes the release of toxins through sweating, stimulates circulation, is an anti microbial agent for sore and wounds, relieves muscle pain and reduces spasms and cramps. Before preparing this bath see “Introduction to Detoxification Baths.”

Detoxification Baths for Skin Conditions

Sometimes when people change their diet, and change to non-toxic products, the body starts to discharge toxins. If the kidneys, colon, liver, lungs are not able to handle the load, the poisons will come out of the skin. When this happens a rash may develop and/or the skin may itch. The kidneys are weak if discharge comes through the skin so this is an indication that a series of Salt Baths should be taken.

We should all be very conscious of our thought processes. This is especially important for the chemically sensitivity and those people with chronic illness. These feelings should be dealt with and not buried.
