Burzynski Movie: A Must See Movie on Cancer Treatment

Today, we are sharing a very important documentary that everyone needs to watch. You may not want to watch it, but I believe you need to watch it.
I watched Burzynski, the Movie last night and was filled with a range of emotions from awe and joy to anger and sadness. It tells the story of a medical doctor and Ph.D biochemist named Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski who made a major discovery and has successfully cured some of the worst and deadliest cancer cases.
However, because of his discovery and his personal patent on the non-toxic drug, the FDA has repeatedly attempted to imprison him so that he does not take money away from the chemotherapy and radiation that the pharmaceutical industry and FDA profit from. As much as this sounds like a conspiracy or something too crazy that it must be made up, I encourage you to watch it before making assumptions. It is well documented and supported by court footage and interviews.
The video is free to watch in full until tonight and I highly, highly encourage you to watch it and share it with others. It is available to buy in DVD form online and at most Whole Foods Stores as well.
If you have ever lost a loved one to cancer, this may be extremely hard for you to watch. However, I think it is important for everyone to see since 1 in 3 Americans are now expected to get cancer at some point in their lives.
Although we believe that diet and lifestyle can reverse cancer, this is a treatment that appears to work without any side effects and gives people a good quality of life. Therfore, this story needs as much exposure and support as possible so that Dr. Burzynski can get a fair chance at getting his treatment to the masses. And so that we can realize that big industries and government powers may not always have the individuals' best at heart.

Sign the Petition for Safer Sunscreen Regulations

We just received the following letter in an email from the Environmental Working Group. It takes 5 seconds to sign the petition. Please sign!
I rely on EWG's annual Sunscreen Guide to help me stock up for summer and to find the best sunscreens for myself and for my family. But every year I think: Why doesn't the government ensure that these important products are safe?
Even in its fifth season, EWG can only recommend one in five of the more than 600 sunscreens in its guide. That means 80 percent of what's been analyzed either doesn't provide adequate protection or contains potentially hazardous ingredients.
The fact that sunscreen manufacturers can market products that don't work -- or may actually cause harm to people who use them -- is utterly unbelievable.
The FDA hasn't issued any new sunscreen safety regulations for more than 30 years. EWG Action Fund is heading to the FDA next week to tell it to finally do its job to protect the American people. We are trying to get 50,000 signatures to take with us, will you be one of them? Act by Thursday at midnight.
The government simply isn't overseeing the sunscreen industry.
When I tell people that those super-high SPF ratings are bogus, they can't believe it. They often ask: "Why isn't the government doing anything about it?" Good question. Why isn't it?
When you think of all the families that search for safe products that provide proper protection from the sun and that don't contain harmful ingredients, it's shocking that the FDA hasn't yet taken action on this issue. We can make better purchasing decisions, but we cannot shop our way out of this mess.
We need to get risky and inadequate products off the market.
Let's get our government on board so we can feel confident in the sunscreen products we buy for ourselves and our families.

European Leaders Want to Ban Cell Phones & WiFi in Schools

According to a recent article in The Telepgraph, a Council of Europe committee examined evidence that the wireless technologies have "potentially harmful" effects on humans, and believe that immediate action should be taken to protect children in schools. Read the full article here.

Event Description:
What you put on your face and body may be harming your health. A slew of studies are pointing to a link between the chemicals found in beauty products and cancer, infertility, learning disabilities, autism and a host of other health problems.
Formaldehyde, lead, aluminum, phthalates – recent product tests reveal that these dangerous chemicals are found in everyday products like baby shampoo, lipstick, deodorant and perfume.
“Make-Up’s Deadly Cover Up,” a seminar discussing the latest research on toxic chemicals in personal care products and safer alternatives, will be held on Sunday, March 27 from 2-4 p.m. at the University of Texas, 201 E 21st St, Jester A121A.
Following the seminar, W3LL PEOPLE at 215 S. Lamar Blvd. will host a reception from 5-7 p.m. with organic fare, refreshments and eco-makeovers. The events are free and open to the public; raffle tickets will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
“It is upsetting to learn about all the toxins that we're exposing ourselves to through products we've trusted and used for years,” states Stacy Malkan, co-founder of CSC, one of the seminar’s panelists and author of Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry. Malkan describes how she researched all the products in her teenage beauty routine: “I found that I was using 20 beauty products a day and exposing myself to 230 chemicals -- including dozens of carcinogens and hormone disruptors -- before even getting on the school bus.”
Allison Evans and Kelly Blackstone, UT alumni and co-founders of Three Branches Healthy Living. Evans has a powerful personal story of her deadly encounter with the beauty industry. A 2008 graduate of UT, Evans experienced first-hand the havoc that synthetic chemicals can wreak on our bodies.
“I was a typical sorority girl, completely ignorant of what these everyday chemicals were doing to my health,” said Evans. “I developed horrible back and neck pain and, in my search to find relief, became aware of how these toxins affect us. I cleaned up my regime – diet and environment – and my body began to heal.”
Stacy Malkan added, “The good news is, there are simple ways to protect ourselves and our families from unnecessary toxic exposures.”
The seminar, sponsored by New Conscious Capital LLC, Pi Beta Phi and the UT Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, will teach you what’s in your favorite beauty products and show you how to find the safest alternatives.
